PANORAMA OF THE ABBEY ON SITE
PEN SKETCH OF THE VIEW
TO THE VISITOR CENTRE FROM THE ABBEY
The view in the sketch
is taken through two columns of the Abbey ruins. The access to the historic
site is shown on the side elevation of the visitor centre. The access is raised
to the first floor level in order to address the change in topography up to the
site of the ruin. The access is also gained through use of a bridge which
provides a threshold and achieves the effect of a light touch of the modern
additions onto the ancient site.

PEN SKETCH OF THE VIEW WITHIN THE ABBEY
This view taken from inside the Abbey ruin faces
toward the town. This part of the Abbey is one of few which is still covered,
in this case, with a vaulted ceiling. The row of columns leads to the opening
at the far end of the structure, framing the view of the town below.
